Skills

Sustainability

My character profiles try to include the upcycling and recycling of materials already being used within the circular environment.  My upbringing of 'mend and make do' has always been in the back of my mind and is the way I operate with costume, fashion and all things textiles and material based.  I find already used materials have a history and more integrity to help tell a story to support the character.  I enjoy the challenge of problem solving by thinking outside the box and using materials from other areas or uses.

Design

I enjoy the design process and research of character profiling to add to any storyline.  I have a natural curiosity of social history and am interested in the facts behind the character and their story and social standing.  Whether it be what they wore or how they wore it and the accessories necessary to achieve a believable story.

Textiles

My love of colour and textures supports my work with textiles, appliques, embroidery and embellishments to add mystery and depth to any character.  I particularly enjoy sourcing different materials to use in my costumes to create the illusion of the character.  Aluminium cans, for example for beadwork and an evening bag for supporting background embellishments.

Additional Skills

  • Adaptable to changing needs

  • Enthusiastically collaborative and strong team leader

  • Extremely organized with strong work ethic

  • Love to problem solve and be challenged

  • Thorough attention to detail

  • Love to help and confident with the public

  • Very positive attitude
